UFC 190: Ronda Rousey Explains Plan Of Attack

ufc tonight

UFC female bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey already has the quickest championship victory to her credit inside the Octagon.

To go along with that 14-second record-breaking performance, “Rowdy” also has a 16-second win on her resume.

So, what can the former bronze medalist from the Olympics do for an encore to those impressive feats? She explained during a recent appearance on “UFC Tonight” to promote her UFC 190 fight vs. Bethe Correia.

“With me winning in the most fantastical way,” she said. “I want fans to go ‘Wow, what just happened there? I want to watch it all over again.’ I only plan the first exchange and then just go with it, so (how it actually ends) your guess is as good as mine.”

Rousey also said that her mother wants her to go for a quick finish vs. Correia, who has sparked quite the feud between the two sides with comments relating to suicide and Rousey’s decisions.

“I explained to my mom I’m actually being more risky if I go for a fast finish,” she said. “Going more slowly would be the safer way to win.”

Following wins over Cat Zingano, Alexis Davis, Sara McMann and Miesha Tate in dominant fashion, Rousey heads into the title fight an overwhelming favorite. Despite that, though, she remains focused on her ultimate career goal.

“In the grand goal, I’m not the favorite,” she explained. “I wan tot be one of the most dominant fighters who’ve ever lived and retire undefeated.

“I’m an underdog in that.”
