GSP Talks Potential Return To Fighting

Georges St. Pierre

Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre stood on the top pedestal of the sport for years.

However, in 2013, St-Pierre stepped away from mixed martial arts, vacating the title and leaving a legacy behind as one of the all-time greats.

During a recent interview with Montreal’s Reseau de sports, GSP decided to get fans all excited with comments about a possible return – though he did rule out getting back into training this year.

“I’m starting to get the feeling, more and more, to come back,” St-Pierre said (thanks to MMAFighting.com for the translation). “I watch the fights to see what’s going on in my division, and I’m staying in shape. It’s like a knife that I have to keep sharp just in case I ever decide to jump back in the mix. It’s not for sure that it won’t happen in 2015, but I’m not sure yet.”

Back in 2013, St-Pierre bested Johny Hendricks in another successful title defense. All total, the 34-year-old has 19 wins inside the Octagon and has defeated the likes of Hendricks, Nick Diaz, Carlos Condit, Jake Shields and Josh Koscheck in recent years.
