The career of Vitor Belfort was in serious question after a loss earlier this year to Chris Weidman for the UFC middleweight title.
But after Saturday night, Belfort was able to rest a little easier.
“The Phenom” scored a first round knockout of Dan Henderson in the main event of UFC Fight Night 77 from his native country of Brazil. The win was the second for Belfort (25-11) over Henderson and the 18th knockout of his career.
“Sometimes you fall down,” Belfort said, “but you pick yourself back up.”
The 38-year-old has been in the news due to reports of elevated testosterone levels during a previous fight with Jon Jones. Belfort was forced to prove he was clean of TRT after the UFC decided to rid itself of the drug.
