UFC 195: Dustin Poirier Shines Once Again

ufc 195

Since making the move to lightweight, Dustin Poirier has found himself a new home.

After debuting inside the Octagon almost five years ago to the day, Poirier earned his sixth win in his last seven fights with a dominating decision over Joseph Duffy at UFC 195.

“I have self-belief,” Poirier said. “I’m coming for that strap, you better believe it.”

Poirier (19-4) suffered a loss to current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and elected to move up to 155 pounds. At just 25 years old, it proved to be a good move for “The Diamond.”

Duffy, who lost for just the second time in his career and first with the UFC, appeared to have a triangle locked up tight at the end. Poirier, though, wasn’t worried.

“I don’t get triangled,” he said. “I have double-jointed shoulders.”

Poirier finished the fight connecting on over 80 strikes and was 4-for-4 on takedown attempts.
