UFC 195’s Stipe Miocic Wants A Title Shot

ufc 195

With less than a minutes worth of work, Stipe Miocic made sure to cement his status as the top contender in the UFC’s heavyweight division.

Miocic, who was delayed in getting to Las Vegas due to inclement weather in Cleveland, arrived and quickly took out Andrei Arlovski in the co-main event of UFC 195 Saturday night.

Catching Arlovski, a former champion, with a short right hand, Miocic followed up until the referee stepped in less than a minute into the bout. It marked the fifth first-minute finish for the Croatian.

“I’m fired up,” he screamed. “I’m ready to roll. I’m real pumped.”

Immediately after the finish, Miocic (14-2) found UFC officials Octagon-side and let it be known that he wants to fight for the title next. Fabricio Werdum defends his belt against Cain Velasquez at the next pay-per-view.

“You hear that?” Miocic said. “It’s undeniable. We are on the same page now. Give me my shot.”

Miocic added that Arlovski is a “tough dude,” but said with the MMA rules “anything can happen.”
