Tyron Woodley Makes Case For Next Title-Fight

ufc 195

Tyron Woodley set on the FOX Sports 1 analysis table and watched as Robbie Lawler defended his welterweight title against Carlos Condit this past weekend.

Now, the former NCAA wrestling standout wants his shot at Lawler.

Woodley was declared the No. 1 contender after Johny Hendricks missed weight last year. But, after the grueling 25-minute battle put forth by Condit, many believe a rematch is in order.

Not Woodley.

“Condit doesn’t have the threat of wrestling and takedowns. He doesn’t have the speed. I have way more power than him,” he said. “I’m hungry. I’ve been sitting at the door, trying to get a bite and a bone.

“Styles make fights and I think my style matches up against anyone in the welterweight division.”

Woodley owns a victory over Condit, as the former interim UFC welterweight champion suffered an injury in the second round, stopping the contest.
