UFC president Dana White would not stand in the way of a champion vs. champion match between Conor McGregor and Rafael dos Anjos.
Appearing on Wednesday’s edition of “UFC Tonight,” White mentioned the idea of allowing the current UFC featherweight champion to challenge dos Anjos – the lightweight titleholder – and defend both belts.
“Conor has said that he would like to win the 155-pound belt and fight four times a year, and defend both belts,” White said. “If anybody can do it, Conor can. This guy has pretty much done everything he said he would do, so I’m interested.”
McGregor (19-2) earned his seventh Octagon victory last month with a 13-second knockout of Jose Aldo. Dos Anjos (25-7) earned his fifth straight with a successful title defense vs. Donald Cerrone in December.
