Dominick Cruz Wants To Make Fans Happy

New UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz isn’t opposed to rematches vs. T.J. Dillashaw or Urijah Faber.

“The Dominator,” who appeared on a recent edition of “UFC Tonight,” stated that he just wants to take on fights that appease the masses.

“I want to take a fight the fans want to see,” he said. “It was the best me that night. But it wasn’t my best. There are a lot of pieces of my game that need more rounds to build the flow, to get my body working. I’ll take anyone in the division. Who’s going to say what they’re going to do? Just talk. I felt bad for T.J. that he wouldn’t talk. That’s what people want. Just talk. You know who talks? Stupid Faber, he will talk. He’s got an excuse for everything he’s lost in his life.”

The 30-year-old Cruz (21-1) returned to action for the first time since 2014 and dethroned Dillashaw. Prior to his win two years ago over Takeya Mizugaki, the former WEC champion was sidelined for almost three years.

UFC officials stripped him of his title following a groin injury that came on the heels of back-to-back knee operations.

“It didn’t feel weird,” said Cruz, of returning to action. “It felt good to be there. I was nervous before, and when we were in the cage, I felt calm. I knew I was there. When they called me, I felt like I was the champion.”
