UFC Fight Night 84: Much Needed Win For Brad Pickett

UFC Fight Night 84

Brad Pickett admitted that retirement was on his mind ahead of his fight at UFC Fight Night 84 with Francisco Rivera.

When the scores were read in favor of Pickett, he let out all the emotion that comes with knowing you were fighting for your career.

“I thought I was fighting not just for my newborn son and family, but for my job,” Pickett said. “I was fighting a lot of demons and I think if I lost, I might have retired.

“I am happy I won.”

Pickett (25-11) snapped a three-fight losing skid, earning his first win since a decision over Neil Seery two years ago next month. He suffered decision defeats to Chico Camu and Ian McCall, along with a knockout loss to Thomas Almeida last July.

“I started my career here in London and I was prepared to finish it here,” he said. “But I want to carry on, stay on this horse. The crowd here in London means a lot.”
