Watching as close as anyone to the action, UFC president Dana White had a different winner from what he witnessed at UFC Fight Night 84.
Appearing on the post-fight show, White said that he scored the main event between Anderson Silva and Michael Bisping for the former UFC middleweight champion.
“I have to watch it again. There was so much craziness going on,” White said, “but I believe it (was) even going into the fifth, and whoever wins the fifth, won the fight.
“I thought that Anderson won.”
The bout was filled with interesting moments, as Bisping planted Silva, only to see “The Spider” returned the favor as the final seconds counted down in the third round with a flying knee. The Brazilian was so sure he won the fight, he started to celebrate on top of the cage before being pulled down by officials.
“Make sure the fight is over,” White said. “If he would have jumped on top of (Bisping), he could have finished the fight. He didn’t. He tried to walk away. It’s crazy.”
