Edson Barboza has another win to put next to his spectacular knockout of Terry Etim, taking out former champion Anthony Pettis at UFC 197 Saturday night.
Barboza claimed the decision, improving to 4-2 over his last six.
None, though, as important as this one over the former UFC lightweight titleholder.
“Train like I fight,” he said. “If I train like I fight, nobody can stop me.
“My game plan was to give my best. Give my best I can beat anybody.”
Barboza (17-4) has bested Pettis, Paul Felder, Bobby Green and Evan Dunham around a December submission loss to top contender Tony Ferguson.
Pettis (18-5) is now stuck in a three-fight losing streak, as he was bested by Eddie Alvarez in January and last March vs. Rafael dos Anjos for the title.
