UFC 200: Miesha Tate Gives Amanda Nunes Props

ufc 200

Now that Miesha Tate is the UFC female bantamweight champion, she knows each and every opponent standing in front of her will be a test.

Tate will take on Amanda Nunes this July at UFC 200 from Las Vegas.

In March, Tate (18-5) scored her fifth consecutive victory when she submitted then-unbeaten Holly Holm in the fifth round. She’s also bested the likes of Jessica Eye, Sara McMann and Liz Carmouche since her last loss.

As for Nunes (12-4), the 27-year-old Brazilian has scored three straight wins, highlighted by a submission of McMann.

“She’s well rounded,” said Tate, during an appearance on UFC Tonight. “It seems to me like she hits the wall. She’s a great striker. She has one-punch knockout power. She’s a phenomenal judo specialist. She’s a great grappler.

“I’m coming prepared for five rounds. I think I can break her. I’m going to grind her to the end.”
