Sara McMann admitted that her bout at UFC Fight Night 88 vs. former training partner Jessica Eye was a difficult one.
With Eye knowing how McMann would approach the contest, the former title contender was forced to be conservative. What resulted was a decision win for McMann, who asked for another crack at becoming a champion after.
“I’m coming for that title,” she said. “I want another crack at it.”
McMann (9-3) lost to then-champion Ronda Rousey in 2014 and had lost three of her last four coming in. She used her effective wrestling to keep Eye at bay throughout the three rounds.
“It can be difficult when someone you’ve trained with knows what you are trying to do,” McMann said. “(Also) it takes two to fight.”
