Ross Pearson will try to get the taste of defeat out of his mouth later this month, stepping in as a replacement for Siyar Bahadurazada to meet Jorge Masvidal at UFC 201.
Set for July 30, the event takes place from the Philips Arena in Atlanta. Robbie Lawler defends his welterweight title vs. Tyron Woodley in the headline act.
Pearson (19-11) suffered a decision loss to former Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks last week. The former Ultimate Fighter winner will move up to welterweight for this contest.
Masvidal (29-11) has gone 6-4 over his UFC run, but is just 1-3 in his last four. Three of those four defeats, though, have been via split decision.
ESPN first reported the fight.
