UFC 205 Perfect Homecoming For Rashad Evans

ufc 205

Rashad Evans has made history and he understands what it is like to be part of history.

Evans will compete at UFC 205 vs. Tim Kennedy in a key middleweight fight. The former UFC light heavyweight champion is dropping down to 185 pounds for the bout.

“Dropping down to middleweight gives me a new challenge,” he said during a recent appearance on “UFC Tonight. “I’ve been training at Belfort’s Training Center. At the Blackzilians, I lost focus on what I needed. I still go there and I’ve got ties to the team. I want to make sure I have hands-on focus and I’m getting what Rashad needs, not what the team needs.”

A native New Yorker, Evans understands the importance of competing on the card, which is the first for the UFC in the state since MMA was legalized.

“It’s huge for me. My whole career, I wanted to fight in New York,” he said. “To be part of something historic, is great for me. Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazer fought there.”
