UFC 206: Results From Toronto

Max Holloway came to Toronto and UFC 206 with one goal: become champion.

And “Blessed” did just that, finishing Anthony Pettis Saturday night to become the interim featherweight titleholder. Holloway remained unbeaten since a loss to Conor McGregor via decision, adding Pettis – a former UFC lightweight champion – to his resume.

Pettis, who missed weight and was ineligible to win the title, stated afterwards that he suffered a broken hand early in the first round. “Showtime” came in three pounds heavy for the fight, forfeiting a portion of his fight purse to Holloway.

In the co-main event, Donald Cerrone landed a head-kick just 34 seconds into the third round that ended his fight with Matt Brown, keeping “Cowboy” unbeaten at welterweight. He is unbeaten since dropping a lightweight title fight to Rafael dos Anjos in 2015.

Kelvin Gastelum controlled Tim Kennedy, finishing him midway through the third round in their middleweight fight. Gastelum was forced to move up to 185 pounds after missing weight yet again last month.

Cub Swanson dealt Dooho Choi his second pro loss, scoring a decision, while Emil Weber Meek turned back the returning Jordan Mein to kickoff the main card via decision.

Misha Cirkunov, Olivier Aubin-Mercier, Viviane Pereira and Matthew Lopez earned wins on the FOX Sports 1 prelims, while Lando Vannata, Rustam Khabilov and Dustin Ortiz picked up victories on UFC Fight Pass.
