UFC 211’s Stipe Miocic Deflects Praise To Coaches

Stipe Miocic didn’t get the top of the UFC’s heavyweight division by himself.

Miocic, who earned his second title defense this past weekend by finishing Junior dos Santos, has put in countless long hours. And so have those working around him.

“It’s my coaches. We drill it over and over. They put in so much time and effort,” Miocic said. “We look at so much film. They put in as much effort as I do.”

By finishing dos Santos, Miocic tied the current UFC record for successful defenses of the belt. He also avenged a previous decision loss to “Cigano” in the process.

So, what’s next for Miocic?

“I don’t care,” he said. “I just want to go home and relax a little bit.”
