Rashad Evans Weighs Moving Back To Light Heavyweight

Rashad Evans

Rashad Evans experienced his greatest MMA success at light heavyweight.

Now, after a failed run as a middleweight, the former UFC 205-pound champion believes he might return to the division he once ruled.

“I can’t retire like this,” Evans told MMA Fighting. “I would never know peace again in my life. Endless nights I would be left looking at the ceiling unable to accept reality.”

The last time Evans had his hand raised inside the Octagon was 2013 when he defeated Chael Sonnen. Since, injuries have limited him to four fights, going 0-4 in those battles with Ryan Bader, Daniel Kelly, Sam Alvey and Glover Teixeira.

“I feel like at 205, I had more energy,” he said.

In 2008, Evans defeated Forrest Griffin to become the champion. He also won The Ultimate Fighter as a heavyweight.
