UFC 110 PosterUFC 110 took place earlier this evening at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.

In the night’s main event, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira took on Cain Velasquez in a heavyweight bout that could determine Brock Lesnar’s next opponent.

In the co-main event, Wanderlei Silva made his middleweight debut against Michael Bisping.

Joe Stevenson and George Sotiropoulos met in a lightweight bout.

Ryan Bader looked to climb the light heavyweight ladder against Keith Jardine.

Anthony Perosh stepped in on short-notice to take on Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic.

Stephan Bonnar & Ben Rothwell Have ‘Must-Win’ Attitudes For UFC 110

MMA For Real and WKR have engaged in a little friendly debate over who’s on the chopping block at UFC 110. Wanderlei Silva, Stephan Bonnar, Keith Jardine, Mirko Cro Cop and Ben Rothwell are all coming off losses so they’re at the center of attention. That doesn’t necessarily mean all five are in danger of losing their jobs, but at least two of those fighters are approaching their fights with “must-win” attitudes.

UFC 110 ‘Nogueira vs Velasquez’ Pre-Fight Interviews: Keith Jardine & Ryan Bader

Keith Jardine and Ryan Bader face off in a light heavyweight bout this Saturday, Feb. 20, at UFC 110.

Expect A Lot Of Standing & Banging At UFC 110

Wanderlei Silva & Keith JardineIf you like a good stand-up war, you’re probably going to see a few this weekend at UFC 110. Wanderlei Silva, Keith Jardine and Mirko Cro Cop all face opponents with decent ground games, but if have anything to say about it, there’s going to be a lot of standing and banging going on at UFC 110.

Koscheck-Thiago II At UFC 109, Jardine-Bader At UFC 110

Josh Koscheck vs Paulo Thiago

Josh Koscheck won’t get a title shot in the near future, but at UFC 109, he will get the opportunity to avenge a stinging loss from earlier this year.

The UFC is targeting a welterweight rematch between Josh Koscheck and Paulo Thiago at UFC 109 on Feb. 6. FanHouse learned of the potential fight on Tuesday, but the bout has yet to be made official by the organization.

Paulo Thiago knocked Koscheck silly at UFC 95 with a vicious uppercut that sent him crumbling to the mat. Thiago isn’t the opponent Koscheck wanted, but he shouldn’t have too much trouble getting motivated for him either.

In other UFC booking news, MMA Weekly is reporting that Keith Jardine will face off against TUF 8 winner Ryan Bader at UFC 110.

A light heavyweight bout has been added to the UFC’s first trip to the land down under as former “Ultimate Fighter” winner, Ryan “Darth” Bader, looks to keep his undefeated record in tact as he faces “The Dean of Mean” Keith Jardine.

The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday by multiple sources close to the fight who indicated bout agreements have been issued for the upcoming fight.

I’d expect Jardine to take this one, but what if he doesn’t? He’s coming off two consecutive losses. It’s hard to imagine the UFC letting a staple in their light heavyweight division go, but three losses in a row is three losses in a row. They’ve cut fighters for less.

Tim Sylvia Is Michael Myers In Halloween, Keith Jardine In Gamer (Update)

Michael Myers

Tim Sylvia’s rocky career is taking another unexpected turn. He’s apparently playing Jason in the newest Friday the 13th movie.

Former UFC heavyweight champion “Maine-iac” Tim Sylvia (24-6) is currently in Boston playing horror film icon Jason Vorhees in the yet-to-be-titled “Friday the 13th” sequel, Fighters.com has confirmed with a source close to the fighter.

Bloody Elbow confirmed the news with Tim’s manager Monte Cox. The good news, for Tim’s fight career at least, is he’s currently training with the boys at Sityodtong in Boston while filming the movie, so hopefully he won’t suffer another embarrassing upset when he takes on Jason Riley at Adrenaline IV. I hate to see Tim get to the point where he needs a machete to win a fight. (Badoom tsss!)

Update: Monte Cox was apparently a little confused about which horror film serial killer Tim Sylvia is playing. He’s actually a stand-in for Michael Myers in Halloween.

“I made a couple mistakes…,” admitted my source, who is very close to Sylvia. “Tim is a stand-in for Michael Myers in the ‘Halloween’ movie out now.”

In other mixed martial artist-turned-actor news, Keith Jardine makes an appearance in that new movie Gamer you’ve probably seen the trailer for a hundred times over now.

Keith Jardine in Gamer

Not quite as badass as Don Frye in Public Enemies, or Don Frye in any movie for that matter, but you have to admit, Keith Jardine makes for a wicked looking bad guy.

Thanks to Berezansky for the Jardine tip
