UFC 87: Seek & Destroy took place this evening at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Georges St. Pierre looked to successfully defend his UFC welterweight title for the first time. His opponent, Jon Fitch, not only attempted to pull off the upset, he also tried to record his ninth straight UFC victory to break Royce Gracie’s record of eight.
Brock Lesnar, in front of his hometown crowd, went out to prove he was the real deal against the highly experienced Heath Herring.
Kenny Florian and Roger Huerta battled it out to possibly determine who will get next crack at BJ Penn’s lightweight title.

So we were all a little surprised last week when the news broke that Roger Huerta had publicly complained about his UFC compensation in FIGHT! Magazine. Then earlier this week, we were really surprised when we heard what Huerta was asking for—six-figures guaranteed per fight and points on the PPV. Considering that Huerta hasn’t beaten any of the UFC ’s elite lightweights yet (although that may change tomorrow night), that seemed like a pretty bold request.

Dana doesn’t hold back in this one. He talks Roger Huerta, Tito Ortiz, Randy Couture, Affliction, Trump’s involvement, fighter unions, and more.

In not so shocking news following the bomb Roger Huerta recently dropped in FIGHT! Magazine, it’s being reported that Huerta and the UFC are “far apart on terms for a renewal” to Huerta’s UFC contract. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has the details.
Roger Huerta will face off against Kenny Florian this Saturday night, Aug. 9, at UFC 87 “Seek and Destroy.”
