We’re less than two months away from Affliction’s second event and the majority of the fight card has been announced, all except a few key bouts. Josh Barnett and Vitor Belfort have both been announced as participants for the January “Day of Reckoning” event, although they’ve yet to have opponents named. There’s still no word on who Belfort may fight, but a couple names have surfaced for Barnett.

DREAM.5 Lightweight GP Finals Results & Wrap-Up

DREAM.5 took place early Monday morning at Osaka Castle Hall in Osaka, Japan. The semi-finals and final round of the lightweight grand prix was featured in the Japanese organization’s fifth outing. Shinya Aoki, Caol Uno, Eddie Alvarez and Tatsuya Kawajiri battled it out to determine who would be the 2008 Lightweight Grand Prix Champion.
Mark Hunt also made his return to mixed martial arts action after a two year layoff against the always dangerous Alistair Overeem.

DREAM.3 Wrap-up

DREAM.3 is now in the books. Three quarterfinal matches in DREAM’s Lightweight Grand Prix took place as well as a welterweight title contender bout between Nick Diaz and Katsuya Inoue and a middleweight grand prix round match between Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller and Katsuyori Shibata. Melvin Mahoef and Kim Dae Won squared off in a middleweight grand prix reserve bout.
I don’t have HDNet so I didn’t get to see the show in its entirety, but I caught quite a few of the fights on the internet. The fights I saw were very entertaining particularly the one many are calling a fight of the year candidate.
