There are two sides to every story.
Yesterday, we passed along news that UFC President Dana White and the UFC had cut Starnes from his UFC contract for his abysmal performance at UFC 83. According to Kalib Starnes, that’s not the case. In an interview with the Fight Network, Starnes stated he asked to be released from his UFC contract. Reportedly, the contract was carried over from his days on The Ultimate Fighter reality show.
You won’t be seeing Kalib Starnes in the UFC again anytime soon, according to Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports. Dana White did not hesitate to cut Kailb Starnes from the UFC after an abysmal performance in front of the record-setting, sold-out crowd in Montreal at UFC 83.

Well, what was supposed to happen happened. Georges St. Pierre came prepared this time, and he rectified what was perhaps the biggest of all of last year’s upsets. In the UFC’s trip to first trip to Canada, GSP set the MMA world right again and defeated Matt Serra, in dominant fashion. St. Pierre is the undisputed UFC Welterweight Champion.
