UFC 91 ‘Couture vs Lesnar’ Results, Thoughts, Bonuses & Live Gate

UFC 91 PosterUFC 91 “Couture vs. Lesnar” took place this evening at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Randy Couture made his return to the UFC following a 15-month hiatus to defend his UFC Heavyweight Championship against the monstrous Brock Lesnar. It was billed as “the biggest fight in UFC history,” but did it live up to the hype?

Two of the UFC’s elite lightweights, Kenny Florian and Joe Stevenson, battled it out for a chance to face UFC Lightweight Champion BJ Penn in 2009.

Gabriel Gonzaga looked to stay relevant in the UFC’s heavyweight division by facing UFC newcomer Josh Hendricks.

Demain Maia tried to keep his UFC winning streak alive against hard-hitting Nate Quarry.

Dustin Hazelett and Tamdan McCrory met in the Octagon in a match some are calling the “Revenge of the Nerds.”

UFC 91 ‘Couture vs Lesnar’ Weigh-In Results

UFC 91 Weigh-Ins Randy Couture & Brock Lesnar

The UFC 91 weigh-ins took place today at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The weigh-ins went off without a hitch. All fighters made weight. Brock Lesnar seemed to draw a significant amount of boos, while Randy got a big pop. One of the big questions the past few days was how Randy would look at the weigh-ins. He didn’t look bad, but he’s definitely a little bit smaller than he was in ‘07 when he fought Sylvia and Gonzaga.

The weigh-in results:

  • Randy Couture (220) vs. Brock Lesnar (265)
  • Kenny Florian (156) vs. Joe Stevenson (156)
  • Gabriel Gonzaga (256) vs. Josh Hendricks (238)
  • Nate Quarry (185) vs. Demian Maia (185)
  • Dustin Hazelett (170) vs. Tamdan McCrory (170)
  • Jorge Gurgel (155) vs. Aaron Riley (156)
  • Jeremy Stephens (155) vs. Rafael dos Anjos (155)
  • Alvin Robinson (155) vs. Mark Bocek (155)
  • Matt Brown (171) vs. Ryan Thomas (170)

Fighters in non-title fights are allowed to weigh in one pound over the weight class limit.

UFC 91 “Couture vs. Lesnar” will take place tomorrow, Nov. 15, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and will air live on pay-per-view at 10PM ET/7PM PT.
