Patrick Cote returns from a year-and-a-half long layoff following the knee injury he sustained against Anderson Silva at UFC 90 on May 8 at UFC 113. He’ll take on Alan Belcher.

UFC 113 was already shaping up to be huge with Lyoto Machida vs. Shogun Rua II and Rampage Jackson vs. Rashad Evans (tentatively) co-headlining, and now it’s getting even bigger.

Hackleman Not Convinced Chuck’s Done, Cote ‘Pissed’ At Leites
Even though Dana White has made it abundantly clear that Liddell won’t be stepping back into the Octagon anytime soon, long-time trainer and friend John Hackleman isn’t so sure that the UFC President is the man who should be making that call.
Cote Preparing To Train
Hard-hitting Canadian Patrick Cote has been on the shelf for a while now, though he won’t be for much longer.
Set to begin training as soon as three weeks from now, ‘The Predator’ is already thinking about his next fight. Cote recently spoke with The Fight Network about his plans to return.
“I will be back in the gym fully training in three weeks or so…. I want to fight someone in the top-five or top-10…. I want Alan Belcher or the winner of Rich Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva…. I would love to fight Vitor Belfort if he came to the UFC.”
I’m a big fan of Cote, and excited to see him get back to action. While I think he should be able to step right into some big matches in the near future, I don’t know that taking on a Franklin or Silva is the best idea in his first fight back. Now that his knee won’t be giving him anymore problems, maybe Cote should start off slow.
You’ve got all the time in the world Patrick. No need to rush it.
Playing Catch-Up
Since we’ve been out of action for a day and a half, there’s quite a few stories that we missed. It doesn’t look like anything major broke, so I’m just gonna do a run down of what we missed so we can get back on track.

Notable quotes:
“A lot of people thought he was playing and goofing around but that’s not his personality. Guys come out sometimes and they’re not in their rythym. For some reason, they can’t pull the trigger and I think that’s what happened to Anderson tonight.”
“What else am I supposed to believe? Am I supposed to believe that he came out to not throw one punch or not do anything for three rounds? I don’t believe that.”
“I’ve known this guy for over two years, he’s anything but disrespectful.”
“You ever watch Star Trek? I wanted to transport myself back to Vegas in my bed. The whole time it was going I was beating my head against the table over there and trying to figure out what was going on.”
Everyone else seems giving out their opinions on what was going on with Anderson Silva, so here’s my two cents.
