Where are they going? A week removed from EliteXC’s fall, not one EliteXC fighter is free and clear yet to sign a new deal elsewhere. That doesn’t mean the wheels aren’t turning though. Here’s the latest on a few of the fighters EliteXC left behind.
Of all the fighters signed to EliteXC contracts, Eddie Alvarez seems to have the most options while his Elite contract is stuck in bankruptcy proceedings. According to his manager, Monte Cox, Eddie has two fights remaining on his DREAM contract, and deals with Andrenaline and Extreme Challenge.
Since we’ve been out of action for a day and a half, there’s quite a few stories that we missed. It doesn’t look like anything major broke, so I’m just gonna do a run down of what we missed so we can get back on track.

With EliteXC all but officially dead, much of the talk around the MMA community has centered on where EliteXC’s fighters will go. Unfortunately, for the fighters and their fans, many of them likely won’t simply be able to enter free agency.
Mike Chiappetta of NBCSports.com explains.
But now, a good number of those fighters are left in legal limbo. Many had complex contracts that will be seen as assets in any bankruptcy proceedings, meaning they may be on the shelf indefinitely while the company’s assets are divided.
While it’s not known who will be at the mercy of the US legal system at the present time, a few fighters are already speaking up about the situations they’ve all of a sudden found themselves in.
The FSBC has released the fighter payouts for EliteXC “Heat” to Sherdog.com. Keep in mind, these figures represent the base contracted pay the fighter receives from the promotion. These figures do not include any additional bonuses or sponsorship money, which in many cases exceeds a fighter’s base pay. These numbers also do not account for taxes, insurance, and license fees.

EliteXC “Heat” took place this evening at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida.
Seth Petruzelli had the opportunity of a lifetime fall into his lap when he was tapped to replace an injured Ken Shamrock in the main event against Kimbo Slice.
Jake Shields defended his EliteXC Welterweight Championship for the first time against the always dangerous UK Cage Rage Champ Paul Daley.
As the result of a co-promotion with Afflliction, heavyweights Andrei Arlovski and Roy Nelson met in the cage for a possible chance to fight Fedor Emelianenko.
Gina Carano looked to keep her undefeated streak going against Kelly Kobald.
Murilo ‘Ninja’ Rua and Benji Radach battled it out to get one step closer to a middleweight title shot.
Results and wrap-up after the jump.
Here’s a better look at all the drama that unfolded yesterday at the EliteXC weigh-ins. Gina strips above, and after the jump, Showtime has put up the Shields-Daley and Kenbo incidents up on YouTube.

You might want to actually watch this weigh-ins video.
It appears there was quite a bit of drama at today’s EliteXC “Heat” weigh-ins. Imagine that.
Gina Carano had to strip down to make weight. She was obviously embarrassed, and I’m sure her it didn’t help that her dad was holding the towel.
Jake Shields and Paul Daley about went at it on stage. Usually it’s all show, but it apparently continued backstage as well.
Of course, it just wouldn’t be right if something didn’t go down between Kimbo and Ken. Shamrock, presumably in character, shoved Kimbo from behind when he turned to exit the stage and mayhem ensued.
Never a dull moment with EliteXC.
Props to MMARated.com for the video and run down.
[UPDATE 10/04/08 1:02AM] - Video with a better angle of the weigh-ins and no music after the jump.
EliteXC “Heat” will take place tomorrow, October 4, at 9PM ET at the BankAtlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and will air live (east coast) on CBS. The weigh-ins will be held today at 4PM ET at the BankAtlantic Center.
