Brazilian Fighters Send Their Support To Wanderlei Silva For Michael Bisping Fight

Michael Bisping may have the support of the UK fanbase behind him, but he doesn’t have a collection of some of the top Brazilian fighters to ever compete in MMA in his corner like Wanderlei Silva has. Anderson Silva, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Jose Aldo, Paulo Thiago, Royler Gracie, Thales Leites, Andre Galvao, they’re all pulling for Wand to “kick the Bisping ass.”

Koscheck Out, Swick In Against Thiago At UFC 109

Mike SwickHere’s another face to take off the UFC 109 poster.

MMA Fighting is reporting that Josh Koscheck has sustained an injury that will take him off the Feb. 6 card. The good news is the UFC has already found Paulo Thiago an opponent, Mike Swick.

Mike Swick has agreed to step in for his injured American Kickboxing Academy teammate Josh Koscheck on short notice and face Paulo Thiago (12-1) at UFC 109 on Feb. 6.

MMAFighting.com learned of the new bout after reporting Koscheck’s decision to pull out of his scheduled fight against Thiago earlier Monday.

With Anderson Silva, Lil Nog and Koscheck all off the card with injuries, that leaves Randy Couture and Mark Coleman as the only original poster-worthy match-up still intact. Kinda funny if the two fighters well into their forties are the ones who actually make to February injury-free.

Koscheck-Thiago II At UFC 109, Jardine-Bader At UFC 110

Josh Koscheck vs Paulo Thiago

Josh Koscheck won’t get a title shot in the near future, but at UFC 109, he will get the opportunity to avenge a stinging loss from earlier this year.

The UFC is targeting a welterweight rematch between Josh Koscheck and Paulo Thiago at UFC 109 on Feb. 6. FanHouse learned of the potential fight on Tuesday, but the bout has yet to be made official by the organization.

Paulo Thiago knocked Koscheck silly at UFC 95 with a vicious uppercut that sent him crumbling to the mat. Thiago isn’t the opponent Koscheck wanted, but he shouldn’t have too much trouble getting motivated for him either.

In other UFC booking news, MMA Weekly is reporting that Keith Jardine will face off against TUF 8 winner Ryan Bader at UFC 110.

A light heavyweight bout has been added to the UFC’s first trip to the land down under as former “Ultimate Fighter” winner, Ryan “Darth” Bader, looks to keep his undefeated record in tact as he faces “The Dean of Mean” Keith Jardine.

The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday by multiple sources close to the fight who indicated bout agreements have been issued for the upcoming fight.

I’d expect Jardine to take this one, but what if he doesn’t? He’s coming off two consecutive losses. It’s hard to imagine the UFC letting a staple in their light heavyweight division go, but three losses in a row is three losses in a row. They’ve cut fighters for less.
