Scott Coker Defends Herschel Walker & Kim Couture, Addresses Passing On Kimbo

Scott Coker talks to Steve Cofield of Cagewriter about Herschel Walker, Kim Couture and passing on Kimbo Slice.

Herschel Walker hasn’t made his debut yet, so it’s easy to say skill-wise he’s worthy of fighting on such a big stage, but how they can justify keeping Kim Couture on board is beyond me.

As far as Kimbo goes, I think Coker made the right call in not signing him. The UFC had the perfect vehicle and gameplan to reinvent Kimbo’s image. That’s just not something Strikeforce could have accomplished with 10 and 30-second promos, and eventually I think it would have backfired on them like it did with EliteXC.

Couture: Divorce Had ‘No Effect On The Preparation’ For Nogueira

Randy Couture hasn’t said much about his divorce since the process started a few months ago until this interview with ProMMARadio. He doesn’t sound particularly thrilled to talk about it, but who can blame him? It’s a divorce. He’s lost before while dealing with a divorce in training camp. Has it affected his preparation this time around? Will it affect his performance on fight night? Randy says no, and I tend to believe him. It’s not his first rodeo. He’s smart enough to learn from past mistakes, so I don’t expect it to play a factor in the Nogueira fight. If he looks off and loses Saturday night though, don’t be surprised if you see a lot of people asking if Kim was a reason why come Sunday.

Couture-Affliction Falling Out Reaches Whole New Level (Update III – Affliction’s Partnerships Doomed?)

Todd BeardIf Tom Atencio is Affliction’s Dr. Jeckyll, then Todd Beard is without a doubt Affliction’s Mr. Hyde. Since Randy Couture re-signed with the UFC, we’ve learned that Beard, one of Affliction’s co-founders, has quite the temper when it was reported that Beard had cussed out Lorenzo Fertitta on a conference call, and subsequently appeared on Scott Ferrall’s radio show where he blasted the UFC, Lorenzo, Dana White, and Randy Couture. There were also rumblings of personal attacks on Randy’s wife, Kim, which judging by the latest news appears to be true.

Kim Couture Says $kala Is A Pervert And Gina Carano Is Underpaid

Steve Cofield of Yahoo! Sports and ESPN Radio 1100 interviews Kim Couture who was in attendance at the EliteXC “Heat” event in Gina Carano’s corner. She claims that $kala is a pervert and tried to sneak a peak during Carano’s embarrassing naked weigh-in. Big surprise, professionalism always seems to elude $kala. She also says the reason why Gina only made $25,000 while Kimbo is making a half a mil is because she’s still on a very long contract. Hopefully, she can renegotiate because $25,000 is ridiculous for one of their top drawing stars.
