The latest episode of Inside MMA included the interview with Alexis Antonacci, the press secretary from the Florida DBPR, on StandGate. It turned out to be a big disappointment though. She pretty much just made the same “we think they’re innocent, but we’ll check it out” statement that she’s made to several other media outlets. However, in light of TJ Thompson’s comments, that better as hell change.

I know we’re all a little tired about talking about what went down at EliteXC “Heat” but I’ve always enjoyed Bas Rutten’s perspective on things, so I thought I’d share this interview he did with Steve Cofield.
One of the rumors floating around about Ken Shamrock was that he was holding out for more money on game day. Bas addressed Shamrock in the interview, and while he doesn’t confirm any rumors, he does allude to something going on with Ken which led to the infamous eye cutting workout.
The video above features Ken Shamrock talking to Kenny Rice and Bas Rutten about his upcoming fight with Kimbo Slice at EliteXC: Heat on CBS. Five Oz. has the video of Kimbo talking about Ken up at their site. They both talk about each other’s weaknesses quite a bit. On Oct. 4, we’ll find out who exposes who.
While Affliction “Banned” was labeled a success by most, it wasn’t flawless by any means. Most noticeably, the televised production had issues, quite a few of them in fact. In the weeks following the event, Tom Atencio stated that the production problems would be addressed for the second show. While we’ll we have to wait till showtime on Oct. 11 to see how well Affliction implements those changes, we can at least report now that they have replaced their broadcast team with the HDNet/IFL crew.

It’s been over 13 years since Kimbo Slice’s trainer, Bas Rutten, lost a professional fight. The last man to defeat him? Ken Shamrock. On Oct. 4, Bas’ pupil will take on the well past his prime Shamrock in front of the masses on CBS. Bas shared his thoughts on the matchup with his student and former foe with Sherdog.com.
“I think it’ll be a great matchup. I would have liked to see it a bit later because of the experience difference, but I think it’s a great matchup.”
…which was before he knew he would be the one fighting Brock Lesnar next.
Mark Coleman will square off against Mark Coleman at UFC 87: Seek And Destroy on August 9.
