A few days ago, UFC President Dana White made a few comments to The Boston Herald in reference to Fedor Emelianenko.
“The door is wide open. I want Fedor to come in and fight the best. At the end of the day, I’m a fight fan. That’s what I really am, and I want to see the best fight the best. Let’s find out if he’s the best. I want to do it.”

Finkelstein also had some interesting things to say about Dana White and his motivations behind signing Couture to a new three-fight deal. He even goes as far as saying it reminds him of the UFC’s alleged intentions behind the purchase of PRIDE.
Fedor Emelianenko and his management spoke with several media outlets during his trip to Los Angeles, which included a lengthy meeting with Randy Couture. Here’s a few quotes.
“We talked a little bit about everything. Certainly, one of the main topics was the possibility of having a fight together and the realities that we both face — mainly that he [Couture] faces -– and whether the reality of having a fight can happen.”

Fedor Emelianenko’s manager, Vadim Finkelstein, reveals that there are plans for Fedor to compete in October and on New Year’s Eve.
What is Fedor to expect after his July bout against Tim Sylvia? How many fights and in what promotions are planned for him before the end of 2008?
Yesterday, Fedor confirmed to Sherdog.com that he would be fighting Tim Sylvia on July 19. While the fight is apparently in the works, it looks like the match has yet to be signed according to his manager, Vadim Finkelstein. Finkelstein commented on the situation last night via M1MixFight.com:
