Former UFC Octagon Girl Natasha Wicks talks to Showdown Joe from Sportsnet.ca about her sudden and unexpected release from the UFC. She will be missed.

Say goodbye to Logan Stanton and Natasha Wicks. According to MMA Madness, they are now former UFC Octagon girls.

MMAMADNESS.com has learned that both Natasha Wicks and Logan Stanton have been cut from the UFC as ring girls. Stanton’s contract expired after UFC 107 and the UFC chose not to renew it. Wicks was cut before the expiration of her contract. Ring girl Arianny Celeste will remain on with the organization; as her contract has been recently renegotiated- explaining her absense from UFC 107.

I can understand the UFC deciding not to renew Logan’s contract. She never really seemed like she was all that excited to be there, but I really don’t get why they cut Natasha. Did she prove to be a little too wild for their taste? Or are they just making room for Chandella Powell (second from the left) who the report said will replace them both?

Update: MMA Fighting (the new Fanhouse) spoke to Logan and Natasha about their dismissal. Natasha was thankful for the opportunity, Logan was a little pissed.

Natasha:

“I am honored to have been given the opportunity and I had fun…I mainly want all the fans to know how greatly I appreciated their support.”

Logan:

“I hadn’t heard anything from anybody. They were promoting me and I was in the video game for next year, so I didn’t think anything of it. I assumed that they were just going to renew my contract for at least another year…I was like, ‘Wait, what? Are you breaking up with me?’ It totally took me by surprise. Natasha actually texted me a little bit before I got the phone call. She was like, ‘The UFC just dropped me,’ and I was like, ‘What? Why?’ I was confused about that. So when he told me he had bad news, I was like, ‘Oh, I already know.’ And then he pulled that one on me. And I was like, ‘Wow.’…I was kind of in shock at the time. I even said, ‘Ok, thank you. Bye.’ I was lame. I just said thanks. I really didn’t know what to say to him. I was kind of upset for a minute. I teared up. And after that, I just became a little angry…very unprofessional.”

Natasha Wicks is officially the wild child of the UFC’s three Octagon girls. You thought her big smile and poofy hair meant she was sweet and innocent? You couldn’t be more wrong. Just check out this video of a photoshoot she did for RawVegas.tv with Randy Couture (Natasha really likes Randy Couture). Before you hit play though, do yourself a favor and make sure your significant other isn’t around. You don’t want the kind of trouble that will bring. Natasha Wicks will be featured in the October issue of FIGHT! Magazine with her crazy hair and all.

Oh, and guess who’s on the cover? Yep, The Last Emperor himself, Fedor Emelianenko. Kinda ballsy of M-1 to get him on the cover if you ask me. They obviously haven’t heard about the FIGHT! Magazine cover curse. Will Fedor be the next victim? Eh, probably not, but if he loses to Brett Rogers, I know what I’m blaming it on.

An improvement over Edith? I think so…

Edith LaBelle is officially a former UFC Octagon girl. Fightlinker noticed earlier this week that she had been removed from the UFC.com Octagon girl page leaving everyone wondering if she was no longer with the UFC. And as it turns out, she’s not. Ariel Helwani spoke to Edith’s manager who confirmed the suspicion, but didn’t give a reason why. She was at the UFC 100 weigh-ins, but not on the UFC 100 broadcast. So what happened? Well, no one really knows for sure, but Fighters Only is hearing she got so drunk Friday night before UFC 100 she couldn’t make it to the event because she had a horrible hangover, so the UFC fired her.

Things worked out perfectly though, because Natasha Wicks won the UFC/Maxim Octagon girl search over UFC 100 weekend and will slide right in as Edith’s unofficial replacement. She makes her debut this weekend at UFC 101.
