UFC Fight Card Updates

The UFC has announced several bouts for their upcoming events.

The Ultimate Fighter Season Seven Finale

Jeremy Horn will face off against Dean Lister in a middleweight bout. Both are highly experienced and technical ground fighters.
TUF finales have traditionally consisted of the season’s cast members squaring off against each other. It appears that won’t be the case this season. Matthew Riddle, who was eliminated on last night’s episode, shed some light on the situation to MMAJunkie.com.

“The people who didn’t fight up to par got the boot and got cut. I think the UFC’s just getting so big that they’re only going to take the best.

“A lot of the guys from the cast weren’t invited to fight at the finale.”

Friday Fight Card Updates

There were a ton of announcements, replacements, and rumors for upcoming events this past week.

Dream.2 Middleweight Grand Prix Round 1 – April 29

Four more middleweight fights were announced in addition to the previous three. The new matchups are:

Ikuhisa Minowa vs. Taiei Kin
Magomed Sultanakhmadov vs. Zelg “Benkei” Galesic
Yoon Dong Sik vs. Shungo Oyama
Ronaldo Jacare vs. Frank Trigg

There is one fight left to fill for the tournament. Yoshihiro Akiyama is the noticeable absence. Japan MMA is passing on information that he has a knee injury that could keep him out of competition.

Nick Diaz may also make an appearance on this card. According to graciefighter.com, Diaz had verbally agreed to fight Marcelo Garcia, but Garcia has decided to pull out. It is unclear at this point if Nick will still appear on the card.

UFC & WEC Fight Cards Updated

Quite a few fights have been announced or rumored in the past few days.

Here’s the rundown:

Rich Crunkilton is set to face Donald Cerrone on the WEC card headlined by WEC Featherweight Champion Urijah Faber and Jens Pulver. View the

Josh Burkman will fight Dustin Hazelett at The Ultimate Fighter 7 finale on June 21 according to MMAWeekly.com. After a weak performance against Mike Swick in last bout, Burkman jokes about retiring if lets this fight go to a decision. View the rest of the TUF 7 Finale card.
Jared Rollins, former TUF 6 cast member, has been revealed as Ben Saunders’, also a TUF 6 alum, opponent for UFC 86. MMAJunkie.com brings the news. View the rest of the UFC 86 card.
