While an analyst on the UFC on FUEL TV: Munoz vs. Weidman post-fight show, Sonnen declared Weidman the top man at 185 pounds. “The All-American” knocked out Mark Munoz in the main event, improving to 9-0 in his career.

There is no way to deny what we just saw; Weidman was on a roll. Now he is playing with the big boys. Now he is in the main event. The test was passed with flying colors. Chris Weidman, present company included, you are the best middleweight in the UFC.

Jon Fitch On Target For September Return To Octagon

Former UFC welterweight contender Jon Fitch wanted to return to action Wednesday night at UFC on FUEL TV: Munoz vs. Weidman. Issues with his knee, however, caused Fitch to pull out of a planned contest with Aaron Simpson.

Simpson went on to defeat Kenny Robertson in his debut at welterweight. The “A-Train” wanted Fitch, and maybe he will get him down the road, as Fitch pointed to a return this fall.

“Should be ready end of sept!” Fitch wrote on Twitter when asked about a potential match with Simpson, who said he would love to face Fitch on the post-fight show.

Fitch (23-4-1) has not competed since last December when he suffered just the second knockout loss of his career against Johny Hendricks.

By targeting a September return, Fitch could be included on either the UFC 152 or UFC on FUEL TV 5 event, as both take place late in the month.
