Ultimate Fight Night 14 ‘Silva vs Irvin’ Averages 3.1 Million Viewers (Update)
Spike TV has released the ratings for Ultimate Fight Night 14 ‘Silva vs Irvin,’ and they are impressive.
“The Ultimate Fighting Championship proved yet again to be the ratings champion with the hard-to-reach demographic of young men. Spike TV’s telecast of a live ‘UFC Fight Night’ on Saturday, July 19 (9:00pm-12:00am ET) featuring the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, Anderson Silva, out-delivered every other channel (broadcast and cable) with Men 18-34 (903,000), Men 18-49 (1,550,000), Men 25-34 (622,000), and Persons 18-34 (1,326,000).* The telecast peaked at 11:30pm for the Silva vs. James Irvin bout drawing 3.8 million viewers and a staggering 4.9 rating for Men 25-34 and a 4.1 rating in Men 18-34.

Ultimate Fight Night ‘Silva vs Irvin’ Fighter Payouts
The NSAC has released the fighter payouts for Ultimate Fight Night 14 “Silva vs Irvin.” Keep in mind, these figures represent the base contracted pay the fighter receives from the promotion. These figures do not include any additional “locker room” bonuses or sponsorship money, which in many cases exceeds a fighter’s base pay. These numbers also do not account for taxes, insurance, and license fees.

UFC Ultimate Fight Night 14 “Silva vs Irvin” took place this evening at The Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The UFC Middlweight Champion, Anderson Silva, moved up a weight class to light heavyweight to challenge fellow Muay Thai practitioner James Irvin. Brandon Vera also fought outside of his normal weight class—heavyweight—to challenge IFL veteran Reese Andy at light heavyweight.
Highly touted heavyweight Cain Velasquez, lightweights Hermes Franca and Frank Edgar, and TUF 7 alums C.B. Dollaway and Jesse Taylor were also in action.

Affliction vs UFC: July 19 Is Here!

July 19 is finally here. Tonight is arguably the biggest night ever in mixed martial arts history. For the first time, two major events—Affliction “Banned” and Ultimate Fight Night 14 “Silva vs Irvin”—will be going head to head. Affliction “Banned” starts at 8PM ET/ 5PM PT on FSN (some markets are showing baseball instead). The pay-per-view will begin at 9PM ET/ 6PM PT and air until 1AM ET / 10PM PT. UFC Ultimate Fight Night 14 “Silva vs Irvin” will air live on Spike TV at 9PM ET/ 6PM PT (it will air live in the west coast) and go until 12PM ET / 9PM PT, with immediate replays.

The UFC Ultimate Fight Night 14 “Silva vs Irvin” weigh-ins took place today in Las Vegas at The Palms.
Anderson Silva’s opponent, James Irvin, weighed in at 207.5lbs with a 206lbs weight limit. The fight will still take place.
[UPDATE 7/18/08 8:40PM ET] - UFC.com is reporting James Irvin returned an hour later to make the 206lbs weight limit.
