WEC 37 ‘Torres vs Tapia’ Fighter Payouts

MoneyThe NSAC has released the fighter payouts for WEC 37 “Torres vs Tapia.” Keep in mind, these figures represent the base contracted pay the fighter receives from the promotion. These figures do not include any additional “locker room” bonuses or sponsorship money, which in many cases exceeds a fighter’s base pay. These numbers also do not account for taxes, insurance, and license fees.

Just a quick note on the Liddell-Couture IV rumor. Franklin McNeil says in the video above that Liddell-Couture IV is not happening, and confirms what Chuck Liddell said in the video earlier today that neither fighter has even been approached by the UFC to make this fight. McNeil did state that if this fight were to ever take place, it would definitely not be in Germany, it would be in the US. Thank you Franklin, everything makes sense again.

 

Miguel Torres Talks Win Over Manny Tapia At WEC 37

Can anyone beat this kid? It doesn’t seem like it, but we said the same thing about Urijah Faber, so who knows. Anyways, Sherdog also has an interview up with Manny Tapia where he says the fight was stopped prematurely. If that was the case, then he should be thanking the ref. Nothing good was going to happen to Manny Tapia from that point on if the ref let it go.

 

WEC 37 Results & Wrap-Up (Update – Bonuses)

WEC 37 PosterWEC 37 took place earlier this evening at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event was broadcast live on Versus.

Miguel Torres put his WEC Bantamweight Championship on the line against Manny Tapia.

Brian Bowles squared off against Will Ribeiro in a bantamweight match-up.

Top-ranked featherweights Wagney Fabiano and Akitoshi Tamura battled it out in what will likely put the winner in the title picture.

Urijah Faber student Joseph Benavidez returned from a brief stint in DREAM to face Danny Martinez.
