Silva’s Going To Fight In Japan Anyways

Antonio SilvaDespite a public warning for a possible license revocation from CSAC Assistant Executive Officer Bill Douglas, it looks like Antonio Silva has decided to violate his steroid suspension and fight in Japan for Sengoku on Jan. 4 anyways. Sherdog’s Loretta Hunt has the story.

CSAC Threatens To Revoke Antonio Silva’s License If He Fights In Japan

Antonio SilvaIt looks like Antonio Silva may want to reconsider his decision to fight in Japan for Sengoku on Jan. 4. Apparently, the CSAC is less than thrilled about Silva’s intention to violate his steroid suspension, and plans to do something about it if he does. And I’m not talking about a slap on the wrist either.

Tim Sylvia To The Land Of The Rising Sun?

Tim SylviaFedor Emelianenko may have broken Tim Sylvia’s face, but he didn’t break his will to fight. We haven’t heard much from Tim since his 36 second loss to Fedor back in July, but that doesn’t mean he’s not looking for his next fight, and according to Sherdog, that may happen sooner rather than later, and likely in Japan.

Steroid suspensions be damned! They’re not going to stop Antonio Silva from getting back in the ring.

Earlier this month, there were rumblings that Silva was in talks to compete in Japan despite the 12-month suspension handed down to him by the CSAC for testing positive for Boldenone. And now, reports have surfaced confirming that he will be fighting on Jan. 4 for Sengoku against none other than the dude who kissed Heath Herring during the pre-fight stare down at K-1 Dynamite!! 2005.

World Victory Road on Friday confirmed that Antonio Silva would compete on its Jan. 4 event, Sengoku 7. The EliteXC heavyweight champion is slated to face Yoshihiro Nakao.

It’s worth noting that the suspension doesn’t preclude him from fighting in Japan. The problem is the athletic commissions don’t exactly consider it “good behavior” when it comes time for reinstatement, so it’s definitely a risk. What’s also a risk is getting too close to a dude who is known to kiss other dudes right before they fight.

We wish Antonio Silva the best of luck on both accounts.

Kimbo Slice On The Dan Le Batard Radio Show; Antonio Silva To Sengoku?

Kimbo Slice On The Dan Le Batard Show

Kimbo Slice was a guest today on The Dan Le Batard Show on 790 The Ticket in his first interview since his loss to Seth Petruzelli on CBS. Obviously, quite a bit has happened since then, so it’s interesting to see what Kimbo’s up to and what his take is on the whole situation. Bloody Elbow reader Discman 2 did a great recap of the interview if you don’t have time to listen. I will throw this quote out there though.
