Have I mentioned how pumped up I am for this event?
BJ Penn and Sean Sherk absolutely hate each other. It’s disappointing but not surprising that no mention is made of the whole Sherk steroid debacle in the videos on the website. That’s been the basis for Penn’s comments on Sherk and it’s actually been quite amusing to listen to. Every time Penn says something new, Sherk just gets more pissed. I think he’s getting into Sherk’s head, if he hasn’t already.
I usually disagree with about 90% of what Dana White says, but he is spot on in the in-depth analysis video of Wanderlei Silva. Wanderlei is the definition of a fighter. Win, lose or draw, he leaves nothing on the table. For better or worse, he’s coming to knock someone’s head off. If you’ve only seen him fight the one time at UFC 79, do not miss this fight against Jardine. Silva is essentially the exact polar opposite of what Kalib Starnes displayed at UFC 83.
Tito Ortiz vs. Lyoto Machida should also be a good fight. It’s most likely going to be Tito’s last fight in the UFC. I’m sure he wants to go out with a bang. The question is, does he still have it in him to defeat the guy who has been picking apart the UFC light heavyweight division?
