Fedor Emelianenko GuideOur first page in our MMA Guide section is complete. It has been a long time coming, but we were finally able to get all the bugs worked out and the stars to align to present you with the first addition to our casual fan’s MMA guide with none other than the number one heavyweight in the world, Fedor Emelianenko.

MMA Guide: Fedor Emelianenko

The primary reason we started this blog is because we felt there wasn’t a single destination for a newer fan of the sport to visit to find out about a fighter or promotion they’ve just heard of. Sure, you can visit one of the several fighter databases around the net, but that just isn’t enough for a newcomer to have that desire to seek out fighter X’s next fight or see promotion Y’s next event. There are incredible fighters and must-see events outside of the UFC that most people just don’t know about. As new fans flood to this great sport we love, we hope our guide will help open their eyes to the world of mixed martial arts beyond just the UFC. In short, we want the new fans to become just as excited about this sport as we seasoned fans are.

We greatly appreciate any feedback and/or constructive criticism on how we can improve this guide. Feel free to leave a comment on this post or through our contact page. Also, at the bottom of the Fedor’s page you will see a section titled “Why You Should Watch.” We realize our opinion isn’t the only one, so we invite you to contribute to that section on all entries. If you are interested, please submit a brief 1-2 paragraph entry on why a casual fan should want to watch fighter X fight. Put simply, pretend you’re convincing your friend to watch your favorite fighter or promotion whom they know nothing about. Your name or screen name, if you prefer, will be placed above the entry with a link back to your website, if applicable. Space will be limited.

Fedor is only the first of many entries to come. In addition to fighters and promotions, we will incorporate legends, fight camps, personalities, history, terms, styles and rules in future additions.

In short, our goal is to do our part as fans of this sport to help educate, inform, and excite the uninformed about mixed martial arts.

Stay tuned, “The Axe Murderer,” Wanderlei Silva is next.
