Denial. Damage control. Call it what you will. I don’t think anyone is going to buy what $kala is trying to sell.
EliteXC is going to have to do something. With Kimbo’s aura smashed (as evidenced in the poll results), EliteXC is going to have to make a move. Their biggest problem is their roster. They have a lot of good fighters, and quite a few elite-level ones, but their roster is poorly lacking in depth that’s needed to create compelling divisions. Their best-bet is to merge or form a long-term partnership with Affliction. They have the fighters, and in many ways, Affliction needs EliteXC as much as EliteXC needs them. I expect that’s the direction they’re both moving towards, it’s just a question of whether or not they can reach a deal and work well together, and that is always easier said than done.
