Mark Coleman is undoubtedly a living legend and true pioneer of mixed martial arts. He will always have his place in the history of MMA, but if his fight against Shogun showed us anything, it showed while he still has the heart, he just doesn’t have the physical tools anymore to be competitive, at least not at the highest level of modern day MMA. He deserves all the praise in the world for having the guts to go out there and compete at his age, but I sincerely hope he doesn’t follow in Ken Shamrock’s footsteps, and recognizes when it’s time to hang it up.
