Randy Couture doesn’t sound like a man who’s going to retire anytime soon.

“I’m not in the illusion that I’m going to fight forever, but I’m having a blast…I’m still getting better as an athlete and a fighter and will take one fight at a time…But it’s not really about achievement anymore, or accolades or any of that. It’s more about doing what I have a passion for and doing what I love…I don’t think [my age has] become a factor. It might be a factor for some of my younger opponents because I’ve been doing this for a long time and I have a lot of experience…But it’s something they have to deal with, if they’re thinking about competing against me. So I think it’s an issue for those younger guys, not for me.”

I’m definitely picking Randy to take Vera out, but if for some reason Brandon Vera decides to put on an impressive performance for a change and beats Randy, it will be interesting to see if three losses in a row are enough to convince Couture to hang it up for good. Eh, probably not.
