With all the trash talking Chael Sonnen’s done over the past few months, you would have thought he’d run out of material. Not so, not by a long shot. Chael Sonnen had plenty to say about Anderson Silva today on the UFC 117 pre-fight teleconference, and he didn’t pull any punches just because Anderson was listening on the other line.

MiddleEasy cut the call down into a collection of Chael’s comments for everyone to hear in the video above. Here’s a few of the better ones courtesy of MMA Fighting, Heavy.com, Sherdog and MMA Mania.

“I’m a partner with the UFC. Anderson’s an employee. There’s a big difference. That’s the reason all the questions keep coming to me, ‘cause I give a coherent and clear answer that somebody wants to hear and he sits on a speakerphone in a car somewhere and says ‘yes’ and ‘no’… If two guys are going to fight, let’s give people a reason to watch them.”

“…They pick their fights and they take easy fights, fighting Math teachers from Ohio or one-legged guys from Canada. There’s going to be a tremendous difference when he gets in with an All-American from Portland, Oregon,”

“I’m the toughest guy in the company. There’s never been a guy with earrings that can out tough me and he’s not going to be the first.”

“He truly thinks people are tuning in to see a fight and not see anything else. He really means that. He feels he’s taking the moral high ground. He couldn’t be more wrong. Does he know anything about business? Has this guy ever done anything? That’s not what they want to see. They’re not just tuning into a fight; they want to know why they’re fighting. He comes on here saying something stupid and thinks he’s making a Noble Prize-winning statement. He couldn’t have this industry more backwards. It’s shocking that he actually believes it and stands there with his chest out, like we should pat him on the back, ‘Good job Anderson. You’re training really hard.’ Well, guess what, dummy? I’ve been training really hard since I was nine years old, and I still have time to bring interest to people seeing me whip your ass on August 7.”

“I’ve never had a problem with what he does in the cage. I don’t believe in sportsmanship and honor. It’s a fight. I just don’t like him. I don’t have to have a reason, not everybody can like everybody. I’m going to got out there and take his belt on the 7th and Dana’s gonna fire him on the 8th.”

“I don’t know what hype means. Hype is BS, it’s phony. I answer questions that you guys ask, that’s it. I don’t think that’s hype. That’s the fight business. We have to make people want to watch our fight. I could pull Anderson Silva out of his hotel room any night and beat the crap out of him, but i made a commitment to wait until august 7 to do that.”

And my personal favorite:

I’ve dominated every fight I’ve ever been in, including the ones I was beat in.

And what does Anderson have to say about Chael’s nonsense? Like everyone else, he “actually thinks it’s funny.”

Update: Cagewriter has audio of Anderson Silva on the call which is limited at best. Anderson is more about doing his job in the cage than responding to Chael to help promote the fight it seems.

Update 2: MMA Weekly has the full audio of the call.
