The ratings for WEC 50 are in, and once again they’re in the low 300,000 range.

Wednesday’s Versus-televised WEC 50 event scored an average audience of 316,000 viewers.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed the ratings information with an industry source.

There’s two way to look at these numbers. The glass half-full view says they remained in line with WEC 49 “Varner vs. Shalorus” which drew an average viewership of 324,000, while the glass half-empty view notes that WEC 50 edged out WEC 49 to become the new lowest-rated WEC show on Versus since WEC 34 in 2008 (ratings not available prior). Either way, unless Urijah Faber is on the card, the numbers continue to move in the wrong direction.

On a brighter note, WEC 51 should attract a larger audience. That card is looking pretty stacked for a WEC event.
