The ratings for Strikeforce “Houston” are in, and while they were down from June’s “Fedor vs. Werdum” show, they didn’t fall too far. ( today confirmed the first-run ratings with an industry source.

Overall, the event, which took place Aug. 21 at the Toyota Center in Houston, averaged 367,000 viewers.

The organization’s peak audience – 470,000 viewers – came approximately two hours into the broadcast to coincide with the Lawal vs. Cavalcante main event.

As the report notes, “Houston” was down from the 412,000 average viewers from “Fedor vs. Werdum,” but up from the 308,000 viewers from “Heavy Artillery.” Strikeforce “Miami” still attracted the largest audience this year on Showtime with 517,000 average viewers. Showtime execs have expressed in the past that they are pleased with the numbers, but always stress that ratings aren’t as critical to their premium subscription business model as they are to advertising-based networks.
