Looks like Josh Barnett isn’t the only notable Strikeforce signing to pass along on this fine Monday afternoon. Following his loss to Paul Daley this past weekend, Jorge Masvidal told Buddhasport.com he signed a multi-year, multi-fight deal with Strikeforce.

“I signed a 6 fight, 2 year deal with Strikeforce. Let the world know I am going to knock out everybody they put in front of me. I don’t have an opponent yet but I want a big fight; you know. I want Melendez or the next big name. No B level fighters. Beerbohm is good but nobody really knows him. I would like to get Kawajiri, that would be great.”

Masvidal makes for a strong addition to Strikeforce’s lightweight division, but with a fairly shallow pool of talent, it’s likely Strikeforce will want to match him up against his teammate JZ Cavalcante sooner or later. Masvidal said it would be “tough to fight a teammate,” but he and JZ would be willing to do it if it were for a title.

No word yet on the details of Masvidal’s Strikeforce debut.
