Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney is still very interested in working with Strikeforce to put together a Eddie Alvarez vs. Gilbert Melendez lightweight “super fight” later this year, but after listening to him talk about it with MiddleEasy in the video interview above, it doesn’t sound like Strikeforce shares his enthusiasm. Not only that, Strikeforce may be sending Melendez over to Japan for Dynamite!! 2010 on NYE. Strikeforce seems to have plans for Melendez later this year, but it doesn’t look like they include Eddie Alvarez or Bellator FC.

The good news is Eddie Alvarez vs. Roger Huerta is definitely going down on Oct. 21 at Bellator 33, and Rebney has plenty to say about that too.
