Strikeforce “Diaz vs. Noons II” fell in line with comparable Strikeforce shows on Showtime in the ratings department. According to MMA Junkie, the show averaged 350,000 viewers and peaked with 509,000. ( today confirmed first-run ratings for “Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons 2” with an industry source and learned that the broadcast peaked with 509,000 viewers.

Overall, the event, which took place Oct. 9 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif, averaged approximately 350,000 viewers.

In terms of average viewership, 350,000 makes “Diaz vs. Noons II” the fourth most-watched Strikeforce/Showtime event this year behind Strikeforce “Miami” (517,000), Strikeforce “Fedor vs. Werdum” (412,000) and Strikeforce “Houston” (367,000). It did however finish ahead of Strikeforce “Heavy Artillery” (308,000) and Strikeforce “Los Angeles” (164,000).

Since Showtime runs on a subscription-based business model, it’s important to note that ratings aren’t their most critical metric like it is for advertising-based networks.
