It seems whatever issues made Dana White question if Jon Jones vs. Ryan Bader was going to happen have been worked out. In an interview with The Fight Fix (via BE), Dana says the fight is still on, presumably for UFC 126, and Jones will fight “nothing but top five opponents” if he beats Bader.

“Yes, the fight will happen with Ryan Bader. Jon Jones is obviously the talk of the industry right now. This guy is the whole package… We’ve had a lot of guys come up through the ranks and they looked like they were gonna be the next big thing. We’ll see if Jon Jones is going to be that guy.

“People always drive me crazy, ‘Oh, Jon Jones is great, let’s get him in there with Shogun Rua. Get him in there now, he’s ready!’ Listen, this guy’s a young kid. Yes, this kid has been dominant, he’s done amazing things. In the fight business you work your way up the ranks. He just broke into the top ten. He’s gonna take on Ryan Bader who just beat (Antonio Rogerio) Nogueira. If he gets through that fight, then he’s gonna fight nothing but the top five. So Jon Jones is probably a year away from getting a title shot.”

Dana also confirmed they offered Jose Aldo the opportunity to move to the UFC lightweight division and fight Kenny Florian, but he turned it down. It seems the door is still open for Aldo to make the switch if he changes his mind in the future.
