Mark Hominick got knocked out of the running to fight Jose Aldo for the UFC featherweight title on New Year’s Day thanks to a lingering hand injury, but it looks like his next fight won’t come too long thereafter. According to Heavy.com, Hominick will face “Korean Zombie Killer” George Roop on the second UFC Fight for the Troops card scheduled for Jan. 22.
A featherweight bout between Mark Hominick and George Roop is in the works for “UFC Fight Night 23: Fight for the Troops 2″ this January.
A source close to the event confirmed the match up with Heavy.com earlier today.
Numerous other outlets have since confirmed the bout, but MMA Junkie notes the match-up is still dependent upon Hominick’s hand healing in time.
Hominick-Roop and Aldo-Grispi aren’t the only UFC-WEC post-merger bouts scheduled for UFC cards though. Here’s a quick list of the others.
