Last we heard, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Rashad Evans was penciled in for UFC 128 on March 12, which at the time was expected to take place in Abu Dhabi. Now, however, Sportsnet.ca is reporting that the light heavyweight title fight is expected at UFC 129 a week later in Newark, New Jersey.

The light heavyweight title fight between champion Mauricio (Shogun) Rua and former champ (Suga) Rashad Evans is expected to take place at UFC 129 on Mar. 19 at The Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey, sources tell Showdown Joe Ferraro.

Sportnet.ca also notes that a light heavyweight match-up between Tito Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, which was also initially rumored for UFC 128 in Abu Dhabi, will now take place at UFC 129 as well.

Furthermore, Dana White recently expressed his doubts over whether or not UFC 128 would take place in Abu Dhabi as initially planned. It seems even less likelier now with the UFC moving these two fights to a different card.
