With TUF 14 set to feature the featherweight and bantamweight weight classes, many fans and writers expected UFC bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber to coach 2011’s second season of TUF. However, it looks like the UFC didn’t want to make everyone wait till the end of the year for that title fight because UFC officials announced today that Cruz vs. Faber II will headline UFC 132 on July 2.
“This is the biggest bantamweight title fight ever, as UFC 135-pound champion Dominick Cruz has verbally agreed to face Urijah Faber at UFC 132 in July,” said UFC President Dana White. “Cruz is unbeaten at bantamweight, but he’s looking for revenge against the only man to beat him at 145 pounds, former champ Faber.”
So far, it looks like UFC 132 will feature the UFC’s lighter weight classes:
- BW: Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber
- WW: BJ Penn vs. Jon Fitch
- LW: Melvin Guillard vs. Shane Roller
- LW: Evan Dunham vs. George Sotiropolous
- LW: Dennis Siver vs. Matt Wiman
